Understanding Pokémon Natures: A Guide for Trainers in Pokémon Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, and Ultra Moon

Natures play an essential role in determining your Pokémon's stats, movesets, and overall performance on the battlefield. As a trainer journeying through the world of Alola or Kalos with Pokémon Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, or Ultra Moon, it is crucial to grasp the concept of natures and how they can impact your team.

What are Natures?

Natures are innate traits that every Pokémon inherits from their parents at birth. They influence various aspects of a Pokémon's stats, such as HP (HP), Attack (ATK), Defense (DEF), Special Attack (Spe At), Special Defense (Sp Def), Speed (Speed or Spe), and even some movesets.

Types of Natures

There are 24 different natures in the games: 18 positive ones that increase certain stat values, two neutral ones that have no effect on stats but can influence other factors such as friendship growth rates with other Pokémon, and four negative ones which decrease specific stat points instead!

Positive Natures:

1. Adamant - Raises Attack while lowering Special Defense.

2. Brave - Boosts Speed at the expense of Accuracy.

8. Bold - Raises Defense while lowering Special Defense; great option if you're going for a tanky team with high HP as well!

9. Docile - Increases healing rate from items like Potions and Rest when used on itself or other friendly Pokémon nearby...

10. Determined - Makes it harder to knock out your Pokémon through critical hits.

11. Durable - Boosts Defense while reducing the chance of fainting due to status conditions such as burn, sleep etcetera...

Neutral Natures:

1. Hardy - Gives extra HP EVs but doesn't affect anything else much either way...

2. Jolly - Raises Speed at all costs! However this comes at a price since accuracy will suffer quite badly too.

Negative NNature's :

3. Rash - Decreases Special Defense and increases the likelihood of fainting from status conditions like burn or paralysis when hit by physical attacks only!

4. Relaxed - Lowers Accuracy while increasing HP; perfect choice if you're looking for something that'll last longer in battle without worrying about getting KO'd easily though...

How to Change Natures

Changing natures on your Pokémon can be done through various methods, including:

1. Using an evolution stone or HM (Hidden Machine) moves like TM01 (TM stands for Technical Machines).

2. Visiting the Pokéd Center's NPC located near Route 5 in Generation III games; they'll charge you 1000 coins per changeover!

3. Alternatively, there are also several items available within shops across different routes that allow this process without spending any money at all either way...
